Teen Wolf’s Tyler Posey wants to play Terry McGinnis in a Batman Beyond movie

April 16, 2018 by Gary Collinson

His former Teen Wolf co-star Tyler Hoechlin has taken on the role of the Man of Steel in The CW’s Supergirl TV series, and it seems that Tyler Posey has also identified a superhero role he’d like to play should the opportunity arise.

Speaking to Screen Rant to promote his new movie, the Blumhouse horror Truth or Dare, Posey expressed his excitement over the prospect of portraying a superhero, telling the outlet that: “I always got… Remember Batman Beyond? I loved Batman Beyond! That’d be fun, man, I don’t want, I don’t want to get too old before I got to pitch it.”

If you’re unfamiliar with Batman Beyond, it began life as an animated sequel to Batman: The Animated Series and takes place in a future Gotham City as teenager Terry McGinnis takes on the mantle of the Batman under the tutelege of an elderly Bruce Wayne.

Warner Bros. did begin development on a live-action adaptation of the series in 2000, with Paul Dini scripting and Boaz Yakin (Remember the Titans) attached to direct, but the project was put on hold the following year.

Last year, it was also rumoured that the plan for Matt Reeves’s Batman trilogy was to build towards a Batman Beyond movie; however, that report also claimed that Ben Affleck had signed on to star in three Batman movies, and we’ve since heard from the man himself that he’s yet to agree to star in The Batman, so one would have to assume the entire story was a fabrication.

Could you see Tyler Posey as Terry McGinnis? If not, who would you like to see cast in a Batman Beyond movie? Let us know in the comments below…
