Doctor Strange director praises Avengers: Infinity War

May 2, 2018 by Samuel Brace

The director of Doctor Strange has praised Avengers: Infinity War for its depiction of the Benedict Cumberbatch character.

Considering just how many heroes are crammed into Infinity War, it was hard to believe that any of the individual characters would be done justice or get a substantial moment to shine.

So it’s high praise indeed that the director of Doctor Strange, Scott Derrickson, has applauded how Infinity War showcased the sorcerer supreme. Taking to Twitter to share his thoughts on the movie, Derrickson said:

“In the Doctor Strange comics, the two things I always loved most were the mind-bending dimensional visuals and Strange’s haunted, lonely isolation and his persistent struggle within himself. Without a lot of screen time, I thought Infinity War embodied that character beautifully.”

Handing over characters you first helped bring to life on screen to new directors must be a scary prospect so it’s great to see that filmmakers like Derrickson are so happy with what the Russos have done with Doctor Strange.
