We already know that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s season five finale distanced itself from the shocking climax of Marvel’s blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War, and now Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb has confirmed that the rest of the small screen side of the MCU – Luke Cage, Daredevil, Iron Fist, The Punisher, Cloak & Dagger etc. – won’t be dealing with the fallout from Thanos’ snap either.
“For the most part our stories will take place BEFORE Thanos clicked his fingers,” said Loeb during a Reddit AMA. “A lot of that has to do with production and when we are telling our stories vs. when the movies come out. So hang in there. I remember in the comics, one of my favorite stories was the KREE-SKRULL war… which was universal, but in X-Men, no mention. Huh. And it all worked out in the end.”
With his comment about “for the most part”, Loeb is presumably referring to the upcoming Netflix shows, whereas Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. isn’t set to return for its sixth season until summer 2019, at which point things will presumably be back to normal – or at least some semblance of normality – following Avengers 4.
Are you disappointed that none of Marvel’s television shows will be exploring the fallout from Thanos’ snap? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
