The Walking Dead showrunner hopes Lauren Cohan returns for season 10

Angela Kang, the new showrunner for The Walking Dead, says that she hopes star Lauren Cohan returns for season 10.

There’s been some talk about whether or not Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie on AMC’s hit zombie show The Walking Dead, will return for another season beyond the upcoming ninth.

Retaining her talents could be seen as of particular significance in the wake of Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes departing in the coming episodes. Angela Kang, the series’ showrunner, certainly wants Cohan to stick around and explained as much to ComicBook.com:

“I’ll say first of all that we’ve still planned some more story with Maggie, Lauren wants to, it will be a little subject to her schedule but hopefully we have her back next season,. We have always planned to have this great story with Maggie this season and I think we promised something. We wanted to pay off that promise. We definitely have a very strong Maggie arc.”

As time passes, the communities confront unexpected obstacles, danger, and of course, walkers, but nothing quite prepares them for the formidable force they are about to encounter, which threatens the very idea of civilization that our survivors have worked so hard to build.”

The Walking Dead season 9 premieres on October 7th on AMC.
