October 13, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Dwayne Johnson has announced that he reuniting with Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle director Jake Kasdan and John Henry and the Statesmen.

The project, which is based on a pitch from Tom Wheeler (The LEGO Ninjago Movie) and is being produced for Netflix, will see Johnson playing the African-American folk hero John Henry as he leads a team of folklore legends from around the world.

“Every mornin’ at the mine you could see him arrive.
He stood six foot six and weighed 245.
Kind of broad at the shoulder and narrow at the hip.
And everybody knew they didn’t give no lip to Big John”
This is gonna be fun!
