Poldark’s Josh Whitehouse joins Naomi Watts in Game of Thrones spinoff prequel

November 1, 2018 by Gary Collinson

A couple of days ago it was reported that Naomi Watts (Gypsy) has been cast in HBO’s planned Game of Thrones spinoff prequel, and now comes word that the Oscar-nominee will be joined in the pilot by Poldark actor Josh Whitehouse.

According to Deadline, Whitehouse will have a major role in the project, although details on his character are being kept under lock and key.

The potential spinoff to the epic fantasy series – which could potentially be called The Long Night – is set thousands of years prior to Game of Thrones and “chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know.”

The pilot has been created by Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass, Kingsman) and A Song of Fire and Ice creator George R.R. Matin, and is one of several potential spinoffs in the works at HBO.
