Watch Superboy and Krypto the Superdog’s debut in Titans’ post-credits scene

December 24, 2018 by Gary Collinson

The first season of DC Universe’s live-action Titans series drew to a close this past Friday with a tantalising glimpse at what’s to come in season two thanks to a post-credits scene which introduced ‘Subject 13’ – a.k.a. Kon-El/Conner Kent/Superboy – along with his trusty canine companion Krypto!

You can watch the scene here…

If you’re unfamiliar with the Conner Kent incarnation of Superboy, the character was introduced into the DC Universe in 1993 and is a teenage clone of Superman – Project Cadmus’ thirteenth attempt at cloning the Man of Steel – who later comes to discover he’s actually been created from the genes of both Superman and his arch-nemesis Lex Luthor. Krypto on the other hand is a Kryptonian dog and pet of Superman, who possesses the same powers and abilities as Kal-El, including super strength, super speed and flight.

As for how Titans will handle Superboy and Krypto, showrunner Greg Walker states:

“What I can say is that we still want to take the same dimensionalized and psychologically grounded approach that we do with the other characters and apply that same pressure to Conner Kent and see what shakes out when you put a character like that through that test. You know, questions of identity, questions of powers, questions of your place in the universe. These are all questions that are interesting for any kind of Superman character, and are really interesting for Conner.”

From executive producers Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter, TITANS is an all-new live-action drama series that follows a group of young soon-to-be Super Heroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In this action-packed series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes, including Starfire, Raven and many others. TITANS is a dramatic, live-action adventure series that will explore and celebrate one of the most popular comic book teams ever.

Titans sees Brenton Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) leading the cast as Dick Grayson, alongside Teagan Croft (The Osiris Child) as Raven, Anna Diop (24: Legacy) as Starfire, Ryan Potter (Big Hero 6) as Beast Boy, Alan Ritchson (Smallville) as Hawk, Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) as Dove and Lindsey Gort (Lucifer) as Detective Amy Rohrbach.
