Kevin Hart set for Fatherhood at Sony Pictures

January 22, 2019 by Gary Collinson

After signing on to reunite with Ride Along director Tim Story on the long-planned Monopoly movie, THR is reporting that Kevin Hart has now added another project to his upcoming schedule.

According to the site, Hart will star in Fatherhood, a dramedy from director Paul Weitz (About a Boy) which is based upon Matt Logelin’s memoir Two Kisses For Maddy: A Memoir Of Loss & Love and “follows a man whose wife dies shortly after childbirth, leaving him to raise their daughter on his own.”

“When I started reading this script, I was immediately touched and brought to tears,” says Hart. “At HartBeat, we seek to provide the audience with stories that evoke true emotions and this story does just that. Our hope is to bring honor to the Logelin family, and we are thrilled to be working with Sony, Paul, Temple Hill and Free Association on such an incredible project.”

Hart, who can currently be seen in cinemas alongside Bryan Cranston in The Upside, is set to shoot Fatherhood once he completes filming on Sony’s sequel to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which reteams him with Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan and Jack Black.
