New poster for Tolkien featuring Nicholas Hoult and Lily Collins

March 12, 2019 by Amie Cranswick

Following last week’s trailer for Tolkien, Fox Searchlight Pictures has released a new poster for the upcoming J.R.R. Tolkien biopic featuring Nicholas Hoult as The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings author and Lily Collins as his wife Edith; take a look here…

The film explores the formative years of the orphaned author as he finds friendship, love and artistic inspiration among a group of fellow outcasts at school. This takes him into the outbreak of World War I, which threatens to tear the “fellowship” apart. All of these experiences would inspire Tolkien to write his famous Middle-earth novels.

Tolkien features a cast that includes Nicholas Hoult, Lily Collins, Colm Meaney, Anthony Boyle, Patrick Gibson, Tom Glynn-Carney, Craig Roberts, Laura Donnelly, Genevieve O’Reilly, Pam Ferris and Derek Jacobi. It is set for release on May 3rd 2019 in the UK and May 10th 2019 in North America.
