Jesse Pinkman is on the run in El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie trailer

August 25, 2019 by Ricky Church

After a lot of rumour and speculation when AMC, Sony Pictures Television and Vince Gilligan first announced a film set in the Breaking Bad franchise, it has now been revealed that Aaron Paul will return as Jesse Pinkman in El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie on Netflix. The film will premiere on the streaming service October 11th and you can check out the poster and watch the trailer below…

The film is set some time after the events of Breaking Bad‘s season finale after Jesse made his escape from the meth lab and Neo-Nazis in an El Camino. The film, which was written and directed by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, has the following synopsis: “In the wake of Jesse’s dramatic escape from captivity. He must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future.”

It has been rumoured Bryan Cranston and Krysten Ritter will reprise their roles as Walter White and Jane Margolis in some form in El Camino, but one returning character from the original series is Charles Baker as Jesse’s longtime friend and fellow drug dealer Skinny Pete.

Breaking Bad originally ran for five seasons before ending in 2013 and became a hit, putting AMC on the map for original programming and earning several Emmy Awards. Its later success on Netflix only increased its popularity. In addition to El Camino, the series spun out the prequel series Better Call Saul which follows Bob Odenkirk’s Jimmy McGill in the years before he was known as the criminal lawyer Saul Goodman. Better Call Saul will return for its fifth season next year.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie will premiere on Netflix October 11 and then on AMC a few months later.
