Marisa Tomei joins Jason Momoa and Isabela Merced in Sweet Girl

December 22, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Oscar winner Marisa Tomei has signed on to star alongside Jason Momoa (Aquaman) and Isabela Merced (Dora and the Lost City of Gold) in the Netflix revenge thriller Sweet Girl.

Directed by Brian Andrew Mendoza, Sweet Girl will see Momoa portraying a devastated husband out for revenge against the people responsible for his wife’s death, while protecting his only remaining family member, his daughter (Merced).

Also featuring in the cast of the film are Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Raza Jaffrey, Adria Arjona, Justin Bartha, Lex Scott Davis, Michael Raymond-James, Dominic Fumusa, Brian Howe, Nelson Franklin, and Reggie Lee.

Tomei was last seen in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, and has recently wrapped production on Judd Apatow’s next as-yet-untitled comedy. She’ll presumably reprise her role as Aunt May alongside Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in Marvel and Sony’s next Spider-Man movie, which is set to arrive in 2021.
