Michael Biehn cast as a bounty hunter in The Mandalorian season 2, Robert Rodriguez confirmed to direct an episode

March 25, 2020 by Liam Waddington

Terminator star Michael Biehn has reportedly been cast in the second season of The Mandalorian, according to reports by Slashfilm and Making Star Wars.

While specific details are under wraps regarding Biehn’s character and how large the role will be in the overall season, the actor will reportedly be playing a bounty hunter from the Mandalorian’s past.

Biehn is best known for his roles as Kyle Reese and Corporal Hicks in James Cameron’s The Terminator and Aliens respectively. He has also had experience being the antagonist in films including Cameron’s The Abyss as Hiram Coffey and the gunslinger Johnny Ringo in Tombstone.

The news of Biehn’s casting comes shortly after the announcement that Rosario Dawson will portray Anakin Skywalker’s former Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano in her live-action debut in the second season of The Mandalorian.

Meanwhile, Slashfilm is also reporting that Robert Rodriguez (Sin City, Alita: Battle Angel) has directed at least one episode of the new season of the show, which is set to hit Disney+ this October. Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau are also confirmed to direct episodes, as is actor Carl Weathers.

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. The series depicts a lone bounty hunter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones) leads the cast of The Mandalorian, alongside the likes of Gina Carano (Deadpool), Carl Weathers (Rocky), Nick Nolte (Afflication), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man), and Rosario Dawson (Daredevil).
