HBO Max’s Green Lantern and Justice League Dark series will have “the highest level of cinematic production values”

May 27, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Kevin Reilly, the content chief for HBO Max, says that the Green Lantern and Justice League Dark TV shows will boast the highest levels of cinematic production values.

HBO Max is the next streaming platform to enter the stage and it looks like the future could be quite bright for the platform thanks to its planned DC content. Zack Snyder’s Justice League has just been announced for the platform and we know that Greg Berlanti’s Green Lantern and J.J. Abrams’ Justice League Dark shows are also on the way.

But what can we expect from these TV shows? Will they be of similar quality to the CW shows we are used to like Flash and Arrow? Well, according to HBO Max content chief, Kevin Reilly, Green Lantern and Justice League Dark will be a step up. Speaking to Business Insider, he said:

“Greg [Berlanti, who is producing a Green Lantern series for HBO Max] has done a lot of really quality DC fare for The CW. These will not be that. These will be next step up in production value. You can expect the highest level of cinematic production values on those shows, and that’s the same for the projects we’ve announced with J.J. [Abrams].”

That certainly sounds pretty good. Hopefully, HBO Max really goes all out on these series and produces something of a truly premium quality. We will have to wait and see.
