Side scrolling action RPG Eastern Exorcist launches on Steam Early Access

August 14, 2020 by Andrew Newton

Indie developer Wildfire Game has announced the release of their 2D side scrolling, action RPG Eastern Exorcist on Steam Early Access for PC.  This 2D brutal adventure combines melee-based combat with a unique homage to Chinese Opera to create a fast paced action game in a world besieged by demons.  Enjoy the new launch trailer below.

Eastern Exorcist takes players to a fictitious world inspired by ancient China that has been invaded by demonic hordes.  Taking the role of a powerful exorcist, players will need to master the art of using the sword if they are to vanquish all foul demons they come across.

Featuring:

  • Fight through a brutal world against evil demonic monsters.
  • Atmospheric scenes thanks to the hand-drawn Chinese ink painting style.
  • Execute demons and monsters with with tactical combat mechanics in hand-drawn frame-by-frame action design.
  • Experience a thrilling, action packed adventure filled with joy and sorrow.

“Eastern Exorcist is a game where the visuals perfectly marry with the action,” says Shaoyan Chen, co-founder of Wildfire Game. “The hand-drawn action flows perfectly with the combat, and we’ve tried to make it appear as rich and real on screen as it feels in the hands of the person playing it. It’s time for gamers to take on the game’s bevy of beasts.”

Eastern Exorcist is available on Steam Early Access now.
