C.S. Lewis once famously said: “Critics who treat adult as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves.” He was reacting to a criticism he was seeing in the literary world wherein children’s books were discarded as trash fit for an undeveloped mind.
Unfortunately, we have seen that happen many times with kids movies these days- films that are designed purely to sell toys or capitalize on this nonsensical notion that children are incapable of handling darker themes or humor in their entertainment.
