Frontier Developments has revealed a new gameplay trailer of the highly anticipated Odyssey expansion coming to Elite Dangerous early next year. This expansion will be available for commanders on Xbox, Playstation and PC and is available to pre-order on PC now. You can watch the gameplay in this new trailer below…
In Elite Dangerous: Odyssey commanders will be able to climb out of their ships and for the very first time explore the distant worlds that await in the vastness of space. Being able to set foot on alien worlds is not the end of the iconic cockpit experience that players have come to know and love, instead there will be new missions to tackle and intense tactical combat to participate in and if things get too hot, leg it back to your ship and escape.
Before setting off to explore strange new worlds, players will be able customise their characters with different specialised suits and gear options and meet up with other commanders in social hubs that are spread throughout the galaxy. These hubs will allow players to to plan manoeuvres, form alliances and obtain and equip new equipment.
The action in Odyssey will feature combat between starships, ground vehicles and commanders with air-to-ground firefights and more. There will be a wide array of weaponry and gear available to match different playstyles but at the end of the day it will be a choice between all-out guns blazing firefights or taking a more stealthy approach.
