Marvel’s Hawkeye set photos feature Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop and Lucky the Pizza Dog

December 2, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Back in September of last year it was reported that actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld had been offered the role of young Marvel hero Kate Bishop alongside Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton in Marvel Studios’ Disney+ series Hawkeye, and now more than a year later, we finally have confirmation.

Following some social media teases from the Bumblebee and The Edge of Seventeen actress this week, the first spy photos and video from the Brooklyn set of the Marvel series have landed online and show Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop alongside Renner’s Hawkeye. They’re not alone either, as they’re also joined by Hawkeye’s canine companion Lucky the Pizza Dog! See for yourself here…

Meanwhile, Renner also seems to be teasing an official announcement on Steinfeld’s casting, which one would have to suspect is imminent…

If you’re not entirely up to speed on Marvel Comics, Kate Bishop is a protege of Clint’s who takes up the Hawkeye mantle, and is also a member of the Young Avengers – a team which is heavily rumoured to be making its way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the coming years.

The Hawkeye series has been written by Jonathan Igla (Mad Men, Pitch), while Bert and Bertie (Troop Zero) and Rhys Thomas (Comrade Detective) are on board to direct. It is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2022 alongside Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight and She-Hulk.
