George Miller’s Mad Max took advantage of the deserted landscape of the Australian Outback to create a post-apocalyptic setting that made an impact on audiences everywhere in 1979. So influential was it that it, like Star Wars and Indiana Jones, ended up inspiring a legion of clones that tried their best to rip-off Miller’s work without any of the effort that was put into it.
