Star Trek: Prodigy teaser trailer reveals fall premiere date

July 24, 2021 by Ricky Church

During the Star Trek Universe virtual panel for Comic-Con@Home, the first teaser trailer for the Nickelodeon and Paramount+ animated series Star Trek: Prodigy was revealed. While an exact premiere date was not announced, the series will arrive on Paramount+ this fall. Watch the teaser below….

Star Trek: Prodigy follows six young aliens — Dal (Brett Gray), Gwyn (Ella Purnell), Rok-Tahk (Rylee Alazraqui), Murf (Dee Bradley Baker), Zero (Angus Imrie), and Jankom Pog (Jason Mantzoukas) — who discover an abandoned Starfleet starship and use it to escape their terrible homeworld and travel space. The series will also see the return of Star Trek: Voyager‘s Kate Mulgrew as Captain Kathryn Janeway as she voices the character’s hologram, helping these young aliens on their new journey through the galaxy.

Star Trek: Prodigy is executive produced by Kevin Hageman and Dan Hageman with Ben Hibon directing and co-executive producing. Nickelodeon Animation Studio and CBS Eye Animation Productions are co-producing the series.

Star Trek: Prodigy follows a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a greater galaxy, in search for a better future. These six young outcasts know nothing about the ship they have commandeered – a first in the history of the Star Trek franchise – but over the course of their adventures together, they will each be introduced to Starfleet and the ideals it represents.
