Brie Larson says The Marvels set is like her “own private Disneyland”

August 11, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

While Phase Four of Marvel’s giant superhero jigsaw continues to gather pace, one of the Infinity Saga’s heroes is gearing up for her return to action, with Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels currently filming in London, Brie Larson has been talking about how the filming process makes it feel like she has her “own private Disneyland”.

Larson was chatting to SiriusXM about life on set of Nia Candyman DaCosta’s blockbuster sequel, telling them “It’s pretty surreal when you’re doing films like this, they’re unlike anything else: huge sets, huge amount of people on set, a lot of specialist specialty things. It’s a really unique experience. I’m a huge fan of Disneyland, so to me it feels like I get to go to my own private Disneyland every single day, because they’re building all these insane worlds that no-one else knows about, no-one else gets to see. I’m in sets that are bigger than you can imagine right now and it’s really special, and it’s super fun and bizarre.”

Very little is known about the plot of the Captain Marvel sequel, beyond the fact that it has been written by WandaVision contributor Megan McDonnell, and that joining the returning Larson and Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury will be Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Zawe Ashton as a mystery villain.

The Marvels is set for release on November 11th, 2022.
