Jason Statham set for thriller The Bee Keeper

August 30, 2021 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Jason Statham is set to lead The Bee Keeper, an action thriller set up at Miramax which is based on a spec script by Kurt Wimmer (Law Abiding Citizen) and is described as “a lightning-paced thriller deeply steeped in the mythology of Bee Keeping”.

“The Bee Keeper explores universal themes with an unconventional story that will have fans sitting on the edge of their seats,” said Miramax CEO Bill Block, who will produce the film alongside Statham and Wimmer. “We’re excited to bring another iconic and irresistible film to audiences around the globe.”

Statham recently worked with Miramax on Guy Ritchie’s Wrath of Man, and has also shot another Ritchie project Five Eyes for the studio, which is currently in post-production.

The Bee Keeper is slated to shoot in September 2022, and the search is currently underway for a director to bring the project to life.
