Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson are total strangers who agree to get hitched in trailer for rom-com Marry Me

November 19, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

Both have enjoyed career resurgences of late, with Jennifer Lopez wowing in Lorene Scafaria’s terrific Hustlers, and Owen Wilson almost stealing Loki from under the nose of its titular God of Mischief, so now the two of them are teaming up for the kind of unconventional rom-com that was the staple of their respective CVs for so many years.

Lopez stars as Kat Valdez, one half of the biggest power couple in Hollywood, who throws that all away in one night when she meets Owen Wilson’s Charlie Gilbert and takes a leap of faith with someone who is out of the spotlight; check out the trailer here…

Packed with original songs by Jennifer Lopez and global Latin music star Maluma, Marry Me finds Lopez starring as musical superstar Kat Valdez and Owen Wilson as Charlie Gilbert, a math teacher—total strangers who agree to marry and then get to know each other. An unlikely romance about two different people searching for something real in a world where value is based on likes and followers, Marry Me is a modern love story about celebrity, marriage and social media.

Marry Me is directed by Kat Coiro (Dead to Me, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, She-Hulk) from a screenplay by John Rogers (The Librarians) and Tami Sagher (30 Rock) and Harper Dill (The Mick) based on the graphic novel by Bobby Crosby. As well as Lopez and Wilson the film also stars John Bradley (Game of Thrones), Michelle Buteau (Michelle Buteau: Welcome to Buteaupia) and Utkarsh Ambudkar (Mulan).

Marry Me drops on February 11th 2022.
