The CW gives pilot orders to Gotham Knights, Supernatural and Walker spinoffs

February 7, 2022 by Gary Collinson

The CW may soon have to make room for another DC show in its schedule, with the network granting a pilot order to Gotham Knights, a potential Bat-Family series from Batwoman executive producers Chad Fiveash and James Stoteraux and story editor Natalie Abrams.

Gotham Knights is being produced by Berlanti Productions, but is unrelated to Batwoman, as well as the upcoming video game title of the same name. The logline for the pilot reads:

Gotham Knights will follow Bruce Wayne’s rebellious adopted son in the wake of Bruce’s murder as he’s forced to forge an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies after they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader.

As the city’s most wanted criminals, this renegade band of misfits must fight to clear their names. But in a Gotham with no Dark Knight to protect it, the city becomes more dangerous than it’s ever been. However, hope comes from the most unexpected of places as this team of mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviors, known as the Gotham Knights.

As well as the Gotham Knights order, The CW has also given the green light to another two pilots – both of which involve Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. First up is the Supernatural prequel The Winchesters, which revolves around John and Mary Winchester and will see Ackles’ Dean Winchester narrating, followed by the 19th century-set Walker spinoff Walker: Independence which has Walker star Padalecki on board as executive producer.
