Challenging space shooter New Terra coming to Nintendo Switch and PC this month

April 20, 2022 by Andrew Newton

Tiny Los Angeles based indie developer Winteryear Studios has revealed that their upcoming space shooter New Terra will release on Nintendo Switch and Steam for PC on 28th April.  This challenging and addictive multi-directional gravity-based space shooter will see players completing numerous missions with an ever dwindling fuel supply so sound strategy and fuel conservation will be essential. Watch the new trailer below…

In New Terra players jump into the role of Captain Lotus and take to the pilot seat of an old paramilitary space fighter called “The Edgecrusher”.  Captain Lotus is the chap who is contacted when there is a dangerous space contract that no one else is willing to take and as a result will often be sent to distant planets and far away galaxies risking his life.  The dangerous missions that players will find themselves on will include rescue operations, extracting ancient alien artifacts, repairing antennas in deep space, taking out war criminals, hauling ice during asteroid storms, fighting enemy ships and much more.

As players fly The Edgecrusher they will find it is affected by a downward gravitational force and as fuel is hard to come by players will need to balance this along with thrust, gravity, physics and trajectory if they are to get back home alive.

New Terra features:

  • 18 action packed levels inside and over alien worlds, through asteroid belts and under alien oceans.
  • Multiple different weapon upgrades for the Edgecrusher that can maximise damage and defence.
  • Easy to learn, difficult to master, dynamic object timing and offsets ensures gameplay patterns are not static and predictable.
  • High replay value thanks to the different strategic possibilities.
  • An original soundtrack composed by famed Hollywood music composer Ron Wasserman.

New Terra will be available on the Switch and PC via Steam on 28th April.
