Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells celebrates Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore

April 20, 2022 by Andrew Newton

Zynga has announced a special series on in-game events for their match-3 mobile game Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells celebrating the release of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore in cinemas.  Details of the events can be seen in the new trailer below….

From today, players will get to meet famed Magizoologist Newt Scamander as he makes his first appearance in the game as a guide and host.  As an event bonus, players can earn badges that can be used to collect the Niffler, the cute and furry collector of shiny items and treasures, and use him as a permanent creature in their gameplay going forward.

The celebration continues further in late April until towards the end of May with an in-game event that allows players to unlock the most revered magical beast, the Qilin. This magical creature will be able to help players complete puzzles when he’s activated.

“We’re incredibly excited to announce the latest Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells in-game event series in conjunction with the release of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore,” said Yaron Leyvand, Executive Vice President, Games at Zynga. “The film series has created a massive global fan following, and we are excited that our players can see the film’s most beloved characters on the mobile screen.”

Join in the celebration of the latest Fantastic Beasts film now in Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells and get earning that Niffler.

Professor Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen) is moving to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches, and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?

The film features an ensemble cast led by Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne (“The Theory of Everything”), two-time Oscar nominee Jude Law (“Cold Mountain,” “The Talented Mr. Ripley”), Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Callum Turner, Jessica Williams, Katherine Waterston, and Mads Mikkelsen.
