Percy Jackson and the Olympians Disney+ series casts Walker Scobell in the lead role

April 12, 2022 by Liam Waddington

After spending almost two years in development, the upcoming Percy Jackson and the Olympians Disney+ TV series, based on author Rick Riordan’s best-selling series of novels, has found its lead actor.

Per Variety, the Disney+ series has cast Walker Scobell as the titular character, Percy Jackson. Scobell recently made his feature film debut in the Netflix film The Adam Project – in which he starred alongside Ryan Reynolds, Mark Ruffalo, Zoe Saldaña, Jennifer Garner, and Catherine Keener.

The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series is set to follow the journey of the titular 12-year-old demigod (Scobell), who’s just coming to terms with his newfound identity as the son of the Greek god Poseidon when Zeus accuses him of stealing his lightning bolt.
