Psychological thriller Screwdriver unveils trailer and poster

October 27, 2023 by Amie Cranswick

Ahead of its digital release this November, a poster and trailer have arrived online for the psychological thriller Screwdriver.

Written and directed by Cairo Smith, the film follows Emily as she heads home to California after being blindsided by divorce, where her old high school friend and his wife generously take her in. But Emily soon finds herself spiralling into a surreal nightmare of manipulation, paranoia, and betrayal as she questions the couple’s true intensions. Watch the trailer below…

Blindsided by divorce, thirty-three-year-old Emily leaves her adopted Nebraska behind, returning to California with nothing but a suitcase in hand. She seeks refuge in the home of an old high school friend and his pharmacologist wife. The childless couple welcomes Emily into their lives, but their hospitality soon gives way to a surreal plot of cult-like manipulation and betrayal. As days bleed together, Emily falls into a delirious tailspin, forcing her to question her faith, her sanity, and the intentions of her generous hosts.

The film stars AnnaClaire Hicks, Charlie Farrell, and Milly Sanders.

Screwdriver arrives on digital platforms on November 10th.
