Look, we get it- there’s a lot of hatred for remakes and reboots. They can seem lazy, the result of a company looking to produce a quick cash grab off of nostalgia, past talent, and an established fanbase.
This isn’t just limited to movies. Many old-school television shows, both live action and animated, have been brought back to the modern age without the “wow” factor that made them great in the first place. MacGyver, Magnum, P.I., and Charmed are some of the ones that come to mind.
But not everything is all doom and gloom. Sometimes a classic show isn’t as great as we remember it, or inherently needs to be modernized to keep it relevant to today’s ever-changing society. 80s and 90s cartoons, in particular, are notorious for not aging the best, and so the wonderful people at Marvelous Videos have discovered 9 remakes that equal or outright surpass their older counterparts.
