Ron Howard says Alden Ehrenreich is not doing a Harrison Ford impression in Solo: A Star Wars Story

April 17, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Ron Howard has said that Alden Ehrenreich, the star of Solo: A Star Wars Story was never supposed to be doing a Harrison Ford impression.

As soon as news hit that there would be a prequel movie revolving around a young Han Solo, fans were busy discussing if anyone could possibly replace Harrison Ford.

Ron Howard, the director of Solo, has revealed that they never wanted the actor cast as Han to try and copy Ford, telling Empire Magazine (via ScreenRant) about the thinking behind Ehrenreich’s performance:

“It was always clear from the beginning, before I was involved, that it was not going to be an impression of Harrison. No one wanted that,” Howard said. “Part of Han Solo’s character is sort of a vibe and a feel and a body language.”

Some fans are still worried whether they will be able to accept Alden as Han but with just a matter of weeks until the film’s release, they won’t have to wait long to see if the actor has managed to pull off the daunting task.
