Syfy gives series order to Deadly Class adaptation

April 21, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Syfy has announced that it has given a series order to a TV adaptation of Rick Remender and Wes Craig’s comic book series Deadly Class, which is being executive produced by Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo.

Deadly Class takes place at King’s Dominion High School for the Deadly Arts, where pupils are trained to be assassins, and follows a disillusioned group of students. Set against the backdrop of 80s counterculture, it is described as “a unique coming-of-age journey [which] follows a disillusioned teen recruited into a storied high school for assassins. Maintaining his moral code while surviving a ruthless curriculum, vicious social cliques and his own adolescent uncertainties may prove fatal.”

Featuring in the cast of the series are Benedict Wong, Benjamin Wadsworth, Lana Condor, Maria Gabriela de Faria, Luke Tennie, Liam James, Michel Duval, Henry Rollins, Taylor Hickson, Siobhan Williams, Jack Gillett, Sean Depner and Ryan Robbins. You can read official character descriptions here.

Adam Targum (Banshee) set to serve as showrunner on Deadly Class as well as executive producing with the Russos, Remender, Miles Orion Feldsott (Bionic Woman), Mike Larocca (Spy) and Lee Toland Krieger (The Age of Adaline).
