A Marvel Cinematic Universe horror movie is “possible” says Kevin Feige

April 24, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Kevin Feige hasn’t ruled out the possibility of making Marvel Cinematic Universe horror movies.

The MCU has an incredible array of stories and characters in its collection at this point, and some of the films have certainly started to offer new and interesting vibes to keep the winning formula fresh.

One thing we haven’t seen from the franchise, however, is a film in the horror genre. With recent horror hits such as A Quiet Place, Get Out, and It, catching people’s attention at the box office, what are the chances that the MCU looks into adding to the genre?

Well, according to Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, when speaking to ComicBook.com, an MCU horror movie isn’t impossible. Referencing the Marvel characters at their disposal such as Blade and Man-Thing, Feige said:

“I like both of those characters that you named, and I think, again, horror can mean a lot of things. Horror, did you mean a movie like Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Hostel or a Friday the 13th or a Poltergeist? Poltergeist is a little bit more my wheelhouse, that’s such a great movie and it scared the heck out of me but it’s really fun. I don’t know, I certainly would like to play with as many genres as possible.”

There you have it. Feige certainly isn’t saying no to an MCU horror feature. But what do you think? Is there room for the horror genre within the MCU as we know it?
