Pedro Pascal and Edgar Ramirez to star in Olivier Assayas’ Wasp Network

May 12, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Back in April of last year it was announced that Clouds of Sils Maria and Personal Shopper helmer Olivier Assayas would be writing and directing Wasp Network, a spy thriller based upon Fernando Morais’ book The Last Soldiers of the Cold War.

Well, it seems the project is now ready to move forward, as RT Features has announced that Edgar Ramirez (The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, Hands of Stone) and Pedro Pascal (Narcos, Game of Thrones) have been cast in the film.

Wasp Network tells the true story of “Cuban spies in American territory during the 1990s when anti-Castro groups based in Florida carried out military attacks on Cuba, and the Cuban government struck back with the Wasp Network to infiltrate those organizations.”

Ramirez has recently signed on to star alongside Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt in Disney’s Jungle Cruise, while Pascal will soon begin production on Warner Bros. and DC Films’ superhero sequel Wonder Woman 2.
