VR fishing game Catch & Release gets a new trailer and release date

May 31, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Advanced Interactive Gaming and Metricminds have announced that their first VR title Catch & Release will be released on Steam and the Oculus store on the 7th June for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.  The game is also planned for release on the Playstation VR later this summer.  If you want to check out how relaxing this new VR fishing game can be then check out the trailer we have for you below…

Catch & Release provides a meditative and relaxing virtual reality fishing experience unlike any released before, combining the relaxing activity of fishing on a lake with cleverly designed game mechanics and beautifully drawn surroundings.  No timers or forced missions will be included so no need to stress out or have the journey spoiled.

The beautifully drawn environments bring to life the surroundings providing dense flora and plenty of wildlife including geese, bears and more.  There will be plenty of interesting fishing spots to test your luck and magnificent looking landscape features to distract you on the game’s sunny days.

This relaxing VR title features:

  • The Boat – Use the unique rowing mechanics to find the best fishing spots and explore the beautiful surroundings.
  • The Fishing Rod – An interactive fishing rod offers full control plus different bait and lures and haptic feedback to help you catch the fish.
  • The Shop – Buy new gear and items in the in-game shop by selling your catch.
  • Fishing – Strategy and finesse will be required to tire out the biggest fish if you want to make the greatest catch.
  • Secrets – There’s more than just fish in the lake giving you the chance to find trash or treasure.
  • Music – Over 30 commercial tracks that have been specially curated for Catch & Release playing on the in-game boat radio. Licensed by Flip Entertainment, the tracks were selected to enhance the in-game music with a non-standard selection aimed at improving the overall immersive experience.

Catch & Release will be available on Steam and the Oculus Store on the 7th June.
