While it’s unlikely we’ll ever know exactly what changes Ron Howard made to Solo: A Star Wars Story, one aspect of the film we do know he was responsible for in its entirety was the villain Dryden Vos, with Howard casting Paul Bettany in the role after Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s original choice Michael K. Williams was unavailable for the reshoots due to scheduling issues.
Prior to the director shake-up, it had been revealed that Williams’ Vos would be an alien character, portrayed via motion capture. And now, thanks to CBM, we’ve got a look at some concept art which shows a number of radically different early designs for the Crimson Dawn gangster; check them out here, and let us know what you make of these designs in the comments below…
