Zachary Quinto says Star Trek 4 news expected in the next few weeks

June 20, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Actor Zachary Quinto has offered an update on the future of Star Trek movies.

2009’s Star Trek brought the franchise back to the big screen in a significant way but it’s television that has been mostly dominating conversation of late. The films, however, are still integral to the franchise’s future, with several in development at Paramount, including Star Trek 4 and Quentin Tarantino’s mystery project.

Speaking during a recent interview with Andy Cohen’s Sirius FM show (via ComicBook.com), Zachary Quinto, who plays Spock, says that news should be arriving very soon:

“You know, I think we’re going to know more in the next few weeks actually. There is a fourth movie that’s being developed right now. They’ve brought a director who’s actually a wonderful woman who I’ve worked with before named SJ Clarkson into the mix to develop and to helm that project. And so I think it’s now kind of in the business, logistical kind of phase.”

The third film in the recent Star Trek series, Star Trek Beyond, came out back in 2016, so fans have had to wait a little while for concrete news of what might be next. Meaning these comments from Quinto should hopefully come as good news.
