New update for H1Z1 Battle Royale brings a new map

June 28, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Daybreak Games have released a huge game update for H1Z1 Battle Royale that includes a new map, animation enhancements and much more.  Well, the map isn’t so much new, rather it is a remastering of Z1, now known as ‘Outbreak’.  Pay the map a visit in the new trailer below…

The new Outbreak map is an 8km x 8km map that captures the spirit of what made Z1 fun but updates enough to make it more suitable for battle royale gameplay.  The map contains a few smaller POIs in the northern and western areas while new loot spots can be found in the more sparse areas.  The map’s structurs have been modified to be visually more appealing although the layouts have remained consistent with the original map.  Outbreak can be fought over in all regular modes .

Other changes in this update include:

  • AR-15 and AK-47 have been adjusted to allow two to three extra shots before recoil growth kicks in.
  • AR-15 and AK-47 are also now 60% more accurate when hip firing.
  • Crouch fatigue has been removed so no restriction on crouch action.
  • Jump animations have been shortened.
  • Running and sprinting animations have been restored to Preseason 3 versions.
  • Bullet impact sounds have returned as have helmet break, headshot and laminated/makeshift armor break sounds from Preseason 3.
  • New Apocalypse Crate available from the in-game Marketplace and can contain such goodies as the new Rainbow Unicorn set or the Apocalypse AK-47 Legendary gun skin.

This update is available now.
