Back in October of last year, Robert Englund ruled out another appearance as Freddy Krueger, but it seems that must have been limited to the big screen and didn’t include guest roles in hit 80s-set TV sitcoms.
As revealed on the show’s official Twitter page, Englund is set to reprise his signature role as the razor-gloved child killer for a guest appearance in this year’s Halloween episode of The Goldbergs, titled ‘Mr. Knifey-Hands’.

Englund last donned the fedora back in 2003’s Freddy vs. Jason, with Jackie Earle Haley taking over the role for the forgettable 2010 remake. His upcoming appearance in The Goldbergs has been described by Englund himself as “a spooky valentine to the fans”.
