Deathstroke and Jericho will appear in DC’s Titans series

October 9, 2018 by Gary Collinson

During the New York Comic Con it was announced that the upcoming DC Universe series Titans has already been renewed for a second season, and now executive producer Geoff Johns has revealed that one of the Teen Titans’ biggest foes will soon make their presence felt in the show.

Speaking at NYCC, Johns revealed that: “You’ll see Deathstroke in Titans eventually, but it’ll be a new version. You’ll definitely see it in the show.”

Meanwhile, DC co-publisher Jim Lee also went on to confirm that Slade Wilson’s son Joe, a.k.a. Jericho, will also appear: “Last night at dinner, Geoff and I were talking about Jericho. So yes, definitely.”

Given that the producers of Arrow were told that Deathstroke was unavailable to them due to Warner Bros.’ big screen plans for the character, his inclusion in Titans certainly raises questions about DC Films’ planned Deathstroke movie with Joe Manganiello – particularly after director Gareth Evans’ recent comments that he hasn’t heard anything about the project “for a really long time”.

From executive producers Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter, TITANS is an all-new live-action drama series that follows a group of young soon-to-be Super Heroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In this action-packed series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes, including Starfire, Raven and many others. TITANS is a dramatic, live-action adventure series that will explore and celebrate one of the most popular comic book teams ever.

Titans sees Brenton Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) leading the cast as Dick Grayson, alongside Teagan Croft (The Osiris Child) as Raven, Anna Diop (24: Legacy) as Starfire, Ryan Potter (Big Hero 6) as Beast Boy, Alan Ritchson (Smallville) as Hawk, Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) as Dove and Lindsey Gort (Lucifer) as Detective Amy Rohrbach. It is set to air on the new DC streaming service on October 12th.
