Sniper Strike: Special Ops reaches 10 million downloads, Halloween event details revealed

October 15, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Outplay Entertainment and EightPixelsSquare have announced that their popular free FPS Sniper Strike: Special Ops has surpassed 10 million downloads in only 10 months.  The developers have also announced that a series of events will make their way to the game throughout October in the run up to Halloween.

Reaching 10 million downloads in just 10 months is a great achievement for the game which has recently made the leap from mobile to PC.  The PC version provides gamers with a new adapted control scheme, user interface and settings.

Hugh Binns, Co-founder of EightPixelsSquare adds: “We are thrilled that Sniper Strike has won millions of fans across the globe, and will be working hard to delight our growing audience in the years ahead. The rapid growth of Sniper Strike has shown the combined strength of our studio working within the Outplay group.”

“The success of Sniper Strike showcases in hard numbers why we wanted to bring the incredible team at EightPixelsSquare into the Outplay Entertainment family. This milestone is a very important one for us and showcases the potential we see in this IP and the distinctive gameplay of Sniper Strike. Together with EPS, we look forward to an even more ambitious 2019 with new projects in the works, whilst continuing to support Sniper Strike’s growth.” Said Douglas Hare, CEO of Outplay Entertainment.

Throughout October EightPixelsSquare will be providing a series of Halloween events including:

  • Alien Solo Event – Players will need to complete missions and destroy Aliens in order to receive alien themed rewards.
  • Robot Clan Event – Players will complete missions and rewards are given based on total clan points achieved.
  • Point Target Event – In the “HunterZ Challenge”, players must complete objectives to score points and unlock themed rewards.
  • Zombie Event – Complete missions and destroy zombies for themed rewards.
  • Hidden Target Event – Leading up to Halloween will be the “Hidden HorrorZ” event.  This event will see players find and take down enemies scattered throughout the campaign missions, wearing a Jack-O-Lantern head in order to unlock themed rewards.

There will also be Halloween daily rewards by logging in every day plus an extra special reward on day 7.

Be sure to check out Sniper Strike: Special Ops on mobile and PC via Steam.
