Woody Harrelson accepted Solo: A Star Wars Story role partly due to Phoebe Waller-Bridge

October 19, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Woody Harrelson, one of the stars of Solo: A Star Wars Story, has revealed that he took the role partly because of his admiration for Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

It’s quite well known that Woody Harrelson was a little tentative about joining Solo: A Star Wars Story, initially turning down the role of Beckett.

Harrelson, of course, changed his mind and joined the rest of the cast and crew but the actor has now revealed what helped him in his decision. Speaking to Radio Times, Harrelson praises L3-37 actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge, saying that she was a big part of his decision:

“Oh god, I just love Phoebe. She is just such a delightful, fun and uplifting friend.

“A friend of mine told me about Fleabag and I watched it all. I love it. Love it! There aren’t many episodes and I wish there were more. Luckily she is doing another season.

“I was really debating doing this film and, in fact, I actually turned it down at first because I had been on such a long string of work and I just wanted to be home with my family.

“Thankfully I ended up doing it because I now can’t imagine not knowing Phoebe.”

Waller-Bridge’s L3-37 certainly made her presence known during the film, causing all kinds of havoc and commotion, as well as becoming an important part of future events.

Are you as fond of Waller-Bridge as Harrelson is?
