Laura Linney set to join Captain Sully as Tom Hanks’ wife

August 18, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

Deadline is reporting that Oscar nominee Laura Linney is set to join the cast of upcoming true story Captain Sully.

The film is being directed by Clint Eastwood (American Sniper) and will see Linney co-star as the wife of Tom Hanks’ title character Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, who became an American hero six years ago when he managed to land a US Airways flight on the Hudson River after a flock of geese hit the plane moments after it took off, saving the lives of the 155 people onboard.

Captain Sully will mark the third time Eastwood and Linney have collaborated after Absolute Power and Mystic River.

Captain Sully is set for release in 2016, and also stars Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight) as Sully’s co-pilot.
