R-Type Dimensions EX now on Nintendo Switch and PC

November 28, 2018 by Andrew Newton

It’s time for gamers on PC and Nintendo Switch to get their trigger fingers ready for battle as Tozai Games announce the release of the classic arcade shoot ’em up R-Type Dimensions EX on PC and Nintendo Switch.  During the first week of release the game will be available on Steam and the Nintendo eShop with a 20% discount.  Check out the game’s launch trailer below…

R-Type Dimensions EX includes the classic game R-Type, the 1987 smash hit that started this fab franchise, and R-Type II from 1989.  Both of these games can be played with the original 2D graphics and retro music or at the flick of a setting play with shiny, hi-res 3D graphics and remastered music.

This new edition of the game introduces three new features: Full Power-Up Mode allows players to power their ships to maximum weapon in Infinite Mode; Fast Forward gives players the option to speed up the game and finally 1080p resolution.  The Nintendo Switch version also features in-game achievements.

Features of R-Type Dimensions EX include:

  • Includes all 8 original R-Type levels and all 6 original R-Type II levels.
  • Ability to switch between hi-res 2D/3D graphics with remastered music and classic versions.
  • 2 players can play together in couch co-op mode or add collision for competitive play.
  • Infinite Mode and Level Select.
  • Slow motion play function that allows players to whiz between bullets and enemies.

R-Type Dimensions EX is available now.
