Devolver Digital’s Ape Out delayed until end of February

February 2, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Digital Devolver has announced a small delay for their top down action game Ape Out.  Originally intended for release on 7th February on Nintendo Switch and PC, the developers want to give the game some extra polishing so that it reaches 60 FPS, therefore the new release date is scheduled as 28th February.  Watch the new trailer below…

Ape Out is a top down game that places gamers in the role of an ape trying desperately to escape his cage.  Players will race their ape through levels while the guards come to stop him with guns, fortunately, thanks to the apes incredible speed and strength he is able to knock the guards flying and even pick them up and use them as a temporary shield and a weapon.  There’s all manner of traps and breakable objects to go through to find the exit on each level.  However, get caught and it’s all over.

The game features a unique art style with lots of colour and combines this with a dynamic jazz soundtrack with drums and cymbals clashing away according to what the ape does.

Ape Out will be available for those who want to get primal at the end of the month.
