Captain Marvel might use time travel in Avengers: Endgame, according to Samuel L. Jackson

February 13, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Samuel L. Jackon has hinted that Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel could use time travel in order to meet up with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Avengers: Endgame.

The upcoming release of Captain Marvel has got many fans excited to see the debut of a new and interesting hero in the MCU – one who will go on to play a key role in battle with Thanos during Avengers: Endgame.

Captain Marvel is set in the 90s and therefore more than 20 years before the events of Endgame, making Captain Marvel’s presence in the film mysterious indeed. Time travel has long been rumoured as a plot device in Endgame, but could time travel also explain how Carol finds herself in the present day? Some fans think so and now Captain Marvel co-star Samuel L. Jackson has hinted that it may just be.

Speaking to Total Film (via ComicBook.com) about the situation and how Nick Fury reaches out to Captain Marvel via pager at the end of Infinity War, Jackson said:

“I guess we might figure out that she can do things that nobody else can do. She can time travel so maybe she can get ahead or behind or whatever, and figure out what all that is. The fact I have the pager 20 years later – it gets addressed in an interesting sort of way.”

Of course, we won’t know for sure until Endgame arrives, or perhaps once Captain Marvel has landed in cinemas. Would you like to see the character utilise time travel to come to the Avengers’ rescue? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us @FlickeringMyth…
