Viz Media bringing The World Next Door to Nintendo Switch, PC and Mac this March

February 20, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Viz Media, experts in publishing and animation distribution, has announced that they will be releasing their first ever videogame on 28th March.  The World Next Door will combine a rich narrative with fast paced, real-time puzzle battles for players on Nintendo Switch, PC and Mac.

In The World Next Door players follow the story of rebellious teen, Jun, who finds herself trapped in the parallel world called Emrys.  Players will need to cast powerful spells using runes to defeat strange enemies known as Grievances and to help Jun open the portal that will lead her back to Earth.

A branching dialogue will give players the opportunity to choose from different responses which will have an impact on what happens, this provides ample replayability.

“THE WORLD NEXT DOOR’s anime-inspired story is accented with visually striking graphics and an exciting gameplay that changes based on the decisions you make each play through,” says Eric Eberhardt, Director, VIZ Media Business Development. “Created in close collaboration with the Rose City Games team, the game has an expansive environment and a host of intriguing and relatable characters. We invite players everywhere to discover the secrets of THE WORLD NEXT DOOR next month.”

The World Next Door will be available on 28th March on the Nintendo Switch and on PC and Mac via Steam, the Humble Store, Itch.io and GOG.com.
