Patton Oswalt on his upcoming role as Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K.

March 3, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Last month it was announced that Patton Oswalt is set to lend his voice to the character of M.O.D.O.K. – a.k.a. the Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing – for a new animated series at Hulu, and now Oswalt has been speaking about his upcoming role as the Marvel villain during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

“I’m gonna be voicing him,” states Oswalt (via Dark Horizons). “He is a supervillain, he has superintelligence, he has a forehead beam, he has all this technology. But, he is not on the A-level of Doctor Doom and the Red Skull. So, not only does he hate all the heroes, he hates all the other villains because he’s so resentful. Getting to play that is going to be really fun.”

In addition to voicing M.O.D.O.K., Oswalt is also writing and executive producing the series, which is one of four animated shows at Hulu alongside Howard the Duck, Hit-Monkey and Tigra and Dazzler Show, which will build to a Marvel crossover entitled The Offenders.

Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. centers around an egomaniacal supervillain with a really big head and a really little body who struggles to maintain control of his evil organization and his demanding family. Writers Jordan Blum and Patton Oswalt will also Executive Produce alongside Jeph Loeb.
