It will be bittersweet for fans this Friday with the release of Captain Marvel, the first chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to release following the death of comic book legend Stan Lee late last year.
As we know, Lee had already shot his cameos for Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame prior to his passing, and during an interview with Metro, Captain Marvel co-director Anna Boden has teased her film’s “emotional” tribute to the great man.
“I don’t want to get fired now, of all times. It would be so weird if I got fired at this point in time,” said Boden. “So I don’t want to say anything I’m not supposed to say, but just that it was… we did want to kind of have a moment and tribute to Stan Lee in this movie, obviously. It was something that came from Marvel and when they showed it to us, there was not a dry eye in the house. It was really emotional.”
