STX Films announces Bad Moms’ Moms

April 7, 2019 by Gary Collinson

STX Films has announced a new instalment in the Bad Moms comedy series, with Christine Baranski, Susan Sarandon and Cheryl Hines set to reprise their roles from A Bad Moms Christmas for Bad Moms’ Moms.

The news was revealed during STX’s CinemaCon presentation, with STX Films chief Adam Fogelson describing the project as “a whole new adventure that is attracting all sorts of great talent.”

At this point, there’s no word on whether writers and directors Jon Lucas and Scott Moore will be on board for the third instalment, nor has it been revealed whether original Bad Moms stars Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn will be back.

STX scored a surprise hit with the original film back in 2016, and almost immediately announced its plans to expand the franchise with a number of feature film spinoffs – including Bad Dads – along with digital shorts and a reality series. So far, the only project to materialise was the sequel A Bad Moms Christmas, along Lucas and Moore have revealed that other potential holiday-themed sequels are a possibility.
