Michael Shannon to re-team with director Jeff Nichols for Loving

September 24, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

The Wrap is reporting that Man of Steel star Michael Shannon is set to re-team with director Jeff Nichols for the director’s new film Loving.

Shannon, who has appeared in all of Nichols’ features up to now, is set to star in the new film which is inspired by Nancy Buirski’s documentary The Loving Story, and follows Richard and Mildred Loving, an interracial couple who were put on trial in 1958 in Virginia.

Nichols has already assembled an impressive ensemble for the film, with Joel Edgerton (The Gift), and Ruth Negga (World War Z) as the titular couple, alongside Ruth Wilson (The Affair), Nick Kroll (Adult Beginners), Marton Csokas (The Equalizer) and Bill Camp (12 Years A Slave) already cast.

Loving is currently in production and is set for a 2016 release.
