July 25, 2019 by Andrew Newton

When WRC 8 arrives on PC and consoles this September it brings with it a brand new Career Mode for players to enjoy.  To highlight this new mode, Bigben and developer KT Racing have released a new video starring Lead Game Designer Benoit Gomes and providing a look at the unique features of this mode in detail.

The new Career Mode allows players to become a driver for a WRC team and progress from season to season and become world champion.  To become world champion of the WRC, players will need to excel in three major areas, these are:

  • Players will need to plan the season using the game’s calendar and decide what events, training, manufacturer challenges etc to carry out between rallies.
  • Manage a crew that comprises of six different and interconnected job roles.  Each job has their own characteristics and can affect rallies in different ways.
  • Players can upgrade their crew through a selection of R&D and a skill tree choices.  Each decision impacts progression and the crew’s morale, performance, reliability etc.

At the end of each season players will be able view statistics that will enable players to review and refine their strategy, adjust set-ups and upgrade their vehicle.

WRC 8 will feature new off-road physics, dynamic weather conditions, 52 teams, 100 special stages and an eSports mode and will arrive on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC this September.
